Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban have donated $500,000 (£333,300) to charity the Red Cross in an effort to help their fellow Australians left homeless by raging bush fires.
More than 180 people have been killed in the inferno, which has destroyed more than 1,000 homes.
The couple appeared via satellite link during an Australian telethon to raise money for the country's Red Cross, during which the actress said, "Our hearts go out tonight to all the families that are dealing with the loss of loved ones and having to rebuild their lives again."
Kidman's Australia co-star Hugh Jackman and fellow antipodean Russell Crowe also took part in Thursday's (12Feb09) televised appeal.
