In preparation for Sunday night's (19Apr15) Academy of Country Music Awards, many of the genre's biggest artists gathered at Arlington's Global Life Park for the ACM Party for a Cause event.

However, the outdoor country music festival was hit by a major storm, and tornado warnings prompted officials to delay the start for both Friday and Saturday (17-18Apr15).

Florida Georgia Line's equipment was completely ruined by the rain after a tarpaulin that was covering the electronics was blown away by the high-speed winds, and they later axed their performance, while Eric Church's set was also cancelled due to inclement weather.

Other acts, including Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Alan Jackson and Patty Loveless, still hit the stage despite their delayed start times, and Urban tells People magazine that he had no plans to axe his show because of the rain, saying, "Everyone here wants to hear music and they want to feel a part of everything. It could be 1 a.m., 2 a.m., 3 a.m., whenever. We'll get out there whatever time it is."

The storm also forced the delay of the live taping of ACM's Superstar Duets special, which featured performances by Clint Black and Joe Nicols, Lambert and Loveless, and Urban and John Anderson, among others.

The special concert is still slated to air in the U.S. on 15 May (15).
