Kellie Pickler, the American country music artist and television personality who found fame after competing on series five of American Idol, married her songwriter fiance KYLE JACOBS in an intimate ceremony on New Year's Day, reports the People Magazine. The couple were married on a private island in the Caribbean.
Picker was one of a number of celebrities who tied the knot on 1st January 2011 - SHANIA TWAIN and boyfriend FREDERIC THIEBAUD were married in Puerto Rico and the actress Valerie Bertinelli wed her long-time beau TOM VITALE in Malibu. Jacobs, who has written songs for the likes of Trace Adkins and Tim Mcgraw, proposed to Pickler back in June 2010 on her late grandmother's birthday. Speaking at the time Pickler said, "We both feel like we got my grandmother's blessing".
The 24-year-old finished in sixth place on AMERICAN IDOL in a series that was eventually won by Taylor Hicks. However, she signed to 19 Recordings in 2006 and her debut album 'Small Town Girl' has since sold over 800,000 copies. She released her self-titled second album in 2008 which spawned three hit singles including the track, 'Best Days of Your Life' which she co-wrote with Taylor Swift.
