Award-winning actor Kenneth Branagh will direct a film version of MOZART's opera THE MAGIC FLUTE in collaboration with comic actor Stephen Fry.

The pair, who last worked together in the 1992 movie PETER'S FRIENDS, which Branagh directed, will film the opera in a World War I setting and include a libretto written by Fry.

DEAD AGAIN star Branagh says, "This is a very exciting departure for me as a filmmaker."

The $27million (GBP15.3million) movie will begin filming in the UK in January (06).
