Saxophonist Kenny G has filed for divorce from his wife of twenty years, Balynda Helene Benson-Gorelick, citing irreconcilable differences for the split.
According to Tmz, who have access to the court papers, Kenny - whose full name is Kenneth Bruce Gorelick -filed for divorce on August 9th and is seeking joint custody of their 14-year-old son, Noah, stating that he does not want to pay spousal support in his divorce filing. The couple's other son, Max, 17, is past the age when spousal support is attainable. The divorce filings also state that the two have a prenuptial agreement between them, which is good news for Kenny, as he is believed to be worth an estimated $50 million.
The couple have in fact been split up since January this year, after Balynda filed for a legal separation from Ken. High-class divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who has previously worked on the divorce cases of Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, will represent Kenny in court. He is one of the most prominent and successful smooth jazz musicians of all time, and holds the world record for playing the longest note ever recorded on a saxophone - 45 minutes and 47 seconds. He is well known for his numerous instrumental solo albums and has also collaborated with the likes of Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra and ANDREA BOCELLI.
