Kate Middleton has been named the Queen of High Street Fashion in a survey by VoucherCodes.co.uk.
The Duchess of Cambridge became an instant fashion icon following her wedding to Prince William earlier this year (2011) when she wore an Alexander McQueen wedding dress. The red Reiss dress she wore to meet the Obamas caused the fashion retailer's website to crash with an overload of demand. The list also included Kate's sister Pippa who came in third, while pop star Cheryl Cole finished behind the princess in second. Wife of England striker, Coleen Rooney finished fourth while Saturdays member Mollie King completed the top five. On the opposite end of the spectrum it was bad news for X-Factor contestant Cher Lloyd who was voted worst dressed celebrity, also on the worst dress list was glamour model Katie Price, former Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona and reality TV star Amy Childs.
Kate Middleton was born in Reading and met her future husband while attending the University of St. Andrews in Scotland where she studied the History of Art. She met the future King in 2001 and soon became the centre of media attention after their relationship became public, after a temporary split the couple married in a lavish ceremony in April this year (2011) which was broadcast across the globe. The Duchess of Cambridge has recently returned from North America where she was present at several royal appointments in the US and Canada.
