Movie cowboys Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton are to play rivals in a new TV mini-series about feuding post-American Civil War families the Hatfields and the MCCoys.
Tombstone star Paxton will play Randall MCCoy in the History Channel drama, titled The Hatfields and MCCoys: An American Vendetta, opposite Open Range's Costner, who will portray Anse Hatfield.
The mini-series chronicles the historical hostilities between the Hatfield clan in West Virginia and the MCCoys across the Tug River in Kentucky following the Civil War, according to TV Guide magazine.
Costner will be among the project's producers.
His Open Range co-star Robert Duvall has previously been linked to a role in the drama, but he has yet to officially sign on.
