Hollywood veteran Kevin Costner is set to be feted for his career achievements with the Cinema Icon Award at an upcoming Las Vegas film convention.
The Dances With Wolves star, 59, will receive the honour at the CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards on 27 March (14).
A statement issued by event boss Mitch Neuhauser reads: "With over four decades both on screen and behind the camera, Kevin Costner has entertained audiences with memorable performances and mesmerized them with his exceptional filmmaking ability...
"Costner's contribution to the movie-going experience is unparalleled. CinemaCon could not be more honored to present him with the 2014 Cinema Icon Award."
Last year's (13) prize was handed to Morgan Freeman.
