The young stars of controversial new movie KIDULTHOOD leaped to the film's defence after its Wednesday night (01MAR06) London premiere, insisting it addresses real life issues. British hardman Ray Winstone's daughter JAMIE, who stars in the gritty tale of bullying and teenage suicide, claims the shocking footage is necessary to educate the ignorant and stay faithful to life. She says, "The film is going to open a few doors and open a few eyes for parents, older people and the younger generation. "It's spot on in what it shows. We are just trying to make a film about what's going on in youth culture today. "If you are going to do these characters, you have got to do them full on. "When I was reading the script, it was so refreshing to read something that captured what it is to be young today."
