Producers of Kiefer Sutherland's TV hit 24 are taking every precaution in case the show is axed - they're writing a number of alternative endings for the next series.
Sutherland was the top earner on TV Guide magazine's drama list earlier this year (09), netting $550,000 (£366,600) for every outing as action man Jack Bauer in the programme.
But executive producer Evan Katz admits he's still unsure whether the cult series will be scrapped by bosses at U.S. TV nework Fox at the end of the upcoming eighth season.
So 24 scriptwriters have dreamed up a few endings to ensure fans will be satisfied if the show must come to an early end.
Katz says, "We're flexible. We have a scenario that would work well if the show ends. But we also have scenarios where it could go on."
The eighth series is currently being filmed and is due to premiere in the U.S. in January (10).
