Lawyers for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries will go head-to-head in court today over their disastrous 72 marriage, and the New Jersey Nets star is expected to get a grilling from the judge. Lawyers for both sides must tell the judge what they have done to either settle the case or prepare for trial, but it seems Humphries has done neither, according to Tmz.com.
Kris has refused to settle the case, even though he signed what is described as an iron-clad pre-up that entitles him to none of Kim Kardashian's fortune. He hasn't prepared for trial against Kim either and has previously said he wants to put reality television in the dock instead. Therefore, it's unclear what the basketball star's end-game is because Kris has no damages. It's understood that he made a substantial amount of money from appearing in ' Keeping up with the Kardashians ' and he recently signed a $24 million basketball contract. It's almost certain that the judge will not want to play games in court on Monday, and will be reluctant to prolong the case any further. If Kris is unhappy to walk away with a clean divorce, the judge will send the case to trial - whether Kris and his legal team are prepared for it or not. We're guessing Kim's team are well and truly prepared for any such eventuality.
As was widely reported at the time, Kim and Kris' marriage began to breakdown almost immediately after their lavish wedding in Montecito, California, which was filmed for a special episode of 'Keeping up with the Kardashians'.
