Veteran rockers Kiss have launched a public appeal to encourage a star quarterback to join their new American football team.

The band has created an Arena Football team called the La Kiss, which will play at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and they are looking to sign a big name to kick off the new season.

The musicians have made it clear they are going after former New England Patriots player Tim Tebow and want to make sure he lands a contract with La Kiss.

Frontman Paul Stanley says in a statement, "Tim Tebow is one of the most recognised and respected athletes in sport. His joining us would mean great things for his fans and for our team, especially from a business standpoint. His credibility within the sports arena is paramount and with our commitment to bringing football without compromise back to La, we're excited to see how this offer turns out."

Bandmate Gene Simmons adds, "Acquiring Tebow would not only be a great investment for the team, but his exciting style of play would definitely send shockwaves through the League. We're excited for the opportunity to see him with an La Kiss uniform on, and for the La Kiss fans to be rockin' their Tebow shirts and jerseys."
