Sought-after designer Bunmi Koko admits it's a dream come true to design for US First Lady Michelle Obama but won't give anything away about the item.
The sought-after designer - who showcased her Matriarchy Collection in a stunning show entitled 'Journey of Discovery' at the start of London Fashion Week today (17.09.10) at Vauxhall Fashion Scout - is rumoured to be designing the US First Lady a coat and while she wouldn't give many details away, she insists the item is something worth waiting for.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Everyone just has to wait and see - it's all a bit hush-hush at the moment but when she does wear it, I'm hoping everyone will be impressed.
"It's always been a huge dream of mine but it's just amazing to be in contact with the White House."
As well as Michelle, Bunmi says she would love to see Beyonce Knowles in one of her creations because she's such a big fan.
Speaking after her show - which was attended by former Sugababe Keisha Buchanan, actress Ali Bastian and new girl band Beach Girl5 - Bunmi said: "It would be great for Beyonce to wear my clothes. I love her music and her style. But there's so many ladies I admire and would love to dress - Thandie Newton, Chloe Sevigny and Sarah Jessica Parker. I was always a huge fan of 'Sex And The City' sand the clothes they wore so to see her in some of my designs would just be fantastic."
Bunmi's Matriarchy collection celebrates female empowerment and domination with a feeling of escapism and culture fusions between Nigeria and Great Britain.
Other designers to have shown on the first day of London Fashion week, included Sass & Bide, Felder Felder and Hannah Marshall.
