UK electro specialists Hot Chip have been chosen to remix two Kraftwerk tracks as part of a special release.

Aerodynamik and La Fame, both of which were included on Kraftwerk's Tour De France Soundtracks' album, have been reworked by the London outfit.

They will then be released on all formats on September 17th, belatedly timed to celebrate the first ever English leg of the Tour de France.

Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard got to work on Aerodynamik while La Forme was tackled by Al Doyle and Felix Martin.

Discussing the influence of Kraftwerk on the wider world, Goddard said the make-up of the German band's song were what made them so special.

"What makes Kraftwerk brilliant is the combination of fascinating textures and sounds, simplicity and efficiency in production, and a habit of writing beautiful melodies," he said.

La Forme takes the shape of a "minimal epic", with distant sirens backed up by a significant bass and melodies.

Hot Chip are no strangers to electro wizardry and so the additional synthesisers and drum machines will come as no surprise.
