Kristin Davis wants to star in a Shakespeare play.

The 'Sex And The City' actress is a huge fan of the work of the revered English playwright and is ready to swap the big screen for the stage for one particular role.

She said: "I know this may sound strange, but I've always wanted to play the character of Viola in 'Twelfth Night'. I loved reading that Shakespeare comedy ever since I was a little girl."

Kristin, 44 isn't the only Hollywood actress who loves Shakespeare.

Al Pacino played Shylock the Jew in a big screen version of the 'Merchant of Venice', and is rumoured to be teaming up with writer-and-director Michael Radford for a film adaptation of 'King Lear'.

Leonardo Dicaprio and Claire Danes played the title characters in Baz Luhrmann's reimagining of 'Romeo And Juliet'.
