On March 7th, Philadelphian troubadour Kurt Vile releases his latest album, Smoke Ring For My Halo, via Matador Records. The follow-up to 2009's Childish Prodigy - a record so beloved in certain circles that Uncut magazine placed it in their Top 50 Albums of the Decade list - will be the former War On Drugs guitarist's fourth full-length and was recorded with John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr.), aided by an illustrious cast of musicians including his touring band The Violators (featuring members of War On Drugs).
To mark the release of Smoke Ring For My Halo, Kurt Vile will embark on a series of free in-store performances in the US, culminating on the 8th March (N. American release date) where he will perform at three different stores on that day, with special guest appearances including Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth).
After a lengthy US tour supporting J Mascis (whose home studio was used to record Smoke Ring For My Halo), Kurt will travel to Europe to play the following headline shows throughout the month of May (UK dates in bold):
