Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue has confirmed she'll be headlining the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony next month (Aug14), joining Scottish stars Lulu and Deacon Blue.

The three acts will perform as volunteers and athletes are saluted at Glasgow's Hampden Park.

Head of ceremonies and artistic director David Zolkwer says, "It's been an absolutely amazing time but now we've reached the bittersweet moment when we brace ourselves for the inevitable goodbyes and the farewells. So, after an incredible feast of sport and culture, we're delighted to invite everyone 'back to ours' to party big time, in Glasgow style.

"As the Cgf (Commonwealth Games Federation) flag will soon be travelling from Scotland to Australia, our line up naturally reflects that journey. We're thrilled that such talented artists, both emerging and iconic, have enthusiastically accepted our invitation to join the party to help create an unforgettable night, a send-off for the athletes of the Commonwealth and to the millions of people watching the ceremony around the world who have been Glasgow's guests for the last 11 days."

Last week's (ends25Jul14) opening ceremony featured performances by Rod Stewart and Susan Boyle.
