A newly-signed singer/songwriter has challenged pop superstar Lady GaGa to enter a $1 million (£666,667) public battle to determine who has the best vocals.
U.S. newcomer Alisa Apps, who was discovered showing off her talents on YouTube.com, wants to pit herself against the Poker Face hitmaker in a singing contest at New York's Madison Square Garden venue.
Apps has fired off the challenge to Billboard magazine, and insists the winner of the vocal bout will take home $1 million.
A letter from Apps reads, "I feel sorry for Lady Gaga, she's just a plastic doll generated by the music money marketing machine. This contest gives people a chance to choose which they prefer - plastic or real."
There is no mention in the statement of who would pay out the $1 million winnings.
