Lady GaGa is to release her own range of fragrances.

The eccentric singer - famed for her outrageous fashion sense - has signed a deal with cosmetics firm Coty Inc. to create perfumes under her name, with the first one expected to be launched in early 2012.

Stephen Mormoris - senior vice president of global marketing in the Coty Beauty division - says the contract was signed last week and thinks the fragrances will appeal to her fans all over the world.

He told WWD: "She is a phenomenon and a fascinating cultural force."

The 'Bad Romance' hitmaker has made no secret of her desire to work in The Fashion world and recently approached renowned hat designer Philip Treacy to take her on as an intern so she could learn all the tricks of the trade.

The designer's representative said at the time: "Lady Gaga has requested an internship. But Philip will have to check her sewing skills first."

Gaga has also previously spoken of her wish to launch her own clothing range, saying: "I can't wait to do my own line. It's definitely something I want to do in the next year, as I do have my own style. I'm already talking To My Boy Akon about it."
