Was Lady GaGa mocking Madonna when she flashed her bum in Helsinki? The Sun certainly seem to think so. Apparently, Madonna recently flashed her bare bottom (well, bare apart from a lacy thong) at a concert on her world tour much to her fans delight and she's also been singing Gaga's 'Born This Way,' fuelling the discussion over Gaga's song being a rip off of Madge's 'Express Yourself.' Last Night (August 28, 2012), Lady Gaga mimicked her pop rival by flashing her own bottom, whilst wearing fishnets and a thong, whilst singing "I don't give a f*** what people say. We don't give a f***. We know the truth," which was taken as a direct reference to Madonna's song 'I Don't Give a F***.'
There doesn't seem to be much love lost between these two pop queens and Gaga's latest antics certainly seem to be a dig at Madonna; she even "roped in her dancers and a Black Jesus character to send up the Queen Of Pop's video for 1989 hit Like A Prayer." Both artists are part-way through their own world tours right now, with both of them causing controversy as they've gone. Madonna upset Russian residents by openly supporting the members of the punk band Pussy Riot, who were recently jailed and Gaga had concerts cancelled in Indonesia when her act was deemed too raunchy for religious groups there.
The 13,000 capacity gig in Helsinki was the first European date that journalists were allowed to review. The show will head to the UK in September, with rock band The Darkness in support. Last night's show contained 15 costumes changes and a set-list containing 22 songs. Looks like Europe's in for a treat, bum-flashing or no bum-flashing.
