With the current season of Dancing on Ice now under way, Laila Morse is looking likely to be one of the first contestants to get the push. The bookmakers William Hill have just announced that they have finally received their first two bets for the Eastenders star to win the televised ice-skating contest. With odds of 66/1, two ambitious bets have been placed - one for 50p and another for one pound.
Rupert Adams, a spokesman for William Hill, said "Laila is proving to be the most unpopular contestant in the history of Dancing On Ice, possibly in the history of reality TV full stop!" Laila is yet to dance on the show though, with her debut performance set to be aired next weekend. The current favourites to win the show are Matthew Wolfenden and Jennifer Ellison. So far, the bookies have been unable to choose between them and have placed them both at 10/3 joint favourite.
On last night's show, Andy Akinwolere became the first celebrity to leave the show after he failed to impress the judges with his 'Moves Like Jagger' routine. The highest-ranked contestant on the first show was the Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter, followed by the British ski champion Chemmy Alcott who has had to take a break from competitive skiing after breaking her leg in December 2010.
