Lana Del Rey's songwriter thinks they write good songs together because they are both ''gloomy.''

Justin Parker co-wrote Lana's first ever hit, 'Video Games', and says they had chemistry to write together because they both sometimes have a sad outlook on life.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''I'm quite gloomy! And she's a bit gloomy sometimes as well. It says a lot about her and I'm not too dissimilar and I think that's why we got on so well because we have a similar outlook.''

Justin and Lana recently picked up an Ivor Novello award for their track, and he is hopeful they will collaborate again when it comes to her second album.

He added: ''I think there's going to be some more, definitely. I don't know when or anything but I've already been told there'll be some more sessions so I'm looking forward to it.

''We had a really good relationship when we were working together - it was like younger sister, older brother type of thing. It worked really well.''
