Country star Leann Rimes has wed actor Eddie Cibrian in a private ceremony in Malibu, California.
Cibrian, 37, proposed to the singer/actress in December (10) and the couple invited family and friends to a private residence on Friday (22Apr11) to celebrate what they thought was an engagement party.
But the gathering turned out to be the stars' actual wedding and they exchanged vows in front of around 40 guests, including Cibrian's sons Mason, seven, and Jake, four, from his previous marriage to Brandi Glanville.
Rimes' spokesman, Rhett Usry, told People.com on Friday, "LeAnn and Eddie were happily married today surrounded by their closest family and friends. They thank everyone for their well wishes."
The Blue singer, 28, and Cibrian were both married when they met and fell in love on the set of a TV movie in 2009.
Rimes divorced dancer Dean Sheremet last summer (10), while Cibrian and Glanville began legal proceedings to end their union in September (10).
The messy break-ups prompted Glanville to publicly attack Rimes in the press and via Twitter.com, although the two women recently called a truce for the sake of Cibrian's young sons.
The country star has also admitted she could have handled the split much better.
In a new Great American Country channel special, which will air in the U.S. on Sunday (24Apr11), she says, "I know I didn't do it the right way. I didn't have the tools... It got really messy but I have learned a lot from that.
"I'm not glad it happened but I know why it did."
