Leann Rimes is creating a TV show based on her marriage.

The 30-year-old singer and her husband Eddie Cibrian have been shopping around a comedy series based on their real life because they want to ''take control'' of how the public sees them.

LeAnn told People.com: ''We're doing a TV show based on our reality. We'll take things out of our lives and elaborate them and make them funny. People have been laughing at us - we want them to laugh with us!

''For some reason, everyone is so interested in our lives but they don't actually know about them. What they read is what they see. We want to be able to take control of our lives again so we want to do a show about us, about our lives, but scripted.''

LeAnn and Eddie, 39, caused controversy when they met on the set of TV movie 'Northern Lights' and embarked on an affair while both were married to other people and while LeAnn regrets hurting others, she is excited about working with Eddie again.

She said: ''That's why we explored the idea of doing the show, to be able to be together.''

It was previously claimed that the couple plan to include a ''crazy ex-wife'' in the show who will be inspired by Eddie's ex-wife Brandi Glanville, 40, who has had numerous public spats with LeAnn.

But LeAnn and Eddie have decided not to feature his sons with Brandi, Mason, nine, and Jake, six, on the show.

The source said: ''Mason and Jake are not involved. If kids end up being on it, they would be played by actors - not Eddie's children.''
