Led Zeppelin's classic 1969 sophomore album has topped a poll to find the favourite record among British politicians. LED ZEPPELIN II beat out competition from three Beatles albums - Revolver (1966), SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND (1967) and THE WHITE ALBUM (1968), which came second, third and fourth respectively - to top the survey. The politicians were asked to name their favourite disc to coincide with the London opening of a British library display celebrating 50 years of the album chart.
