LEE ANN WOMACK and Keith Urban were the big winners at the 39th Country Music Association Awards (CMAS) in New York last night (15NOV05), picking up five of the biggest honours between them.

Womack claimed Single Of The Year (I MAY HATE MYSELF IN THE MORNING) and Album Of The Year (THERE'S MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM) honours, while her duet with GEORGE STRAIT on GOOD NEWS BAD NEWS took home the Vocal Event Of The Year prize.

And Australian country star Urban picked up the Male Vocalist Of the Year and coveted Entertainer Of The Year awards as the CMAs celebrated their New York debut at Madison Square Garden.

The show, hosted by the night's Vocal Duo Of The Year BROOKS + DUNN, also honoured Toby Keith, DIERKS BENTLEY and Gretchen Wilson, among others.
