Leona Lewis escaped injury on the opening night of her U.K. tour - after she fell down an elevator shaft.
The Bleeding Love hitmaker was performing to fans in Sheffield, England on Friday (28May10), and was using a hydraulic lift to transport her to and from the stage.
But the platform malfunctioned and failed to move upwards for Lewis to stand on - and she plunged several feet when she stepped into the opening of the shaft.
The singer was unhurt, but badly shaken up by the incident.
She tells Britain's The Sun, "When I fell down the lift shaft it was a bit scary. I was lucky not to get injured. Fortunately it happened during a blackout on set so it didn't affect the show and none of the audience saw anything. I got a shock and had to be rescued."
