Lewis Hamilton found it ''strange'' being in 'Zoolander 2'.

The 30-year-old Formula One driver filmed a cameo appearance for the long-awaited sequel in Rome last month and was overjoyed to get to meet one of his favourite actor's Ben Stiller, who he said was surprisingly ''down-to-earth''.

He confessed: ''It was a scene set at a fashion show. Ben came to meet me when I arrived and I got to talk to him, and he was just so down-to-earth it was kind of strange.''

The Mercedes driver - who recently signed a lucrative contract with Mercedes - continued to say he is a huge fan of the 49-year-old actor, who has previously starred in comedies including 'Dodgeball', 'Tropic Thunder' and 'Meet the Parents'.

Speaking to Evening Standard magazine, he recalled: ''He was exactly like he is in the movies. I'm going to lose my s**t when I see myself in a film with him.''

Meanwhile, other famous faces have signed up to star in the movie including Justin Bieber, Anna Wintour, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West.

And speaking about the film - which is due to be released in February 2016 - Ben previously said a ''confluence of events'' made the movie possible, as a follow-up to the original film, released in 2001.

He said: ''Last year, we started looking at it again, and it seemed like the confluence of events of everybody wanting to do do it, and it got to a point where it actually came together. And it's exciting to finally be able to talk about it, too.''
