Li Bingbing has been cast in 'Transformers 4'.

The Chinese actress is set to join the cast of Michael Bay's forthcoming alien robot blockbuster, which will film scenes in China and feature numerous Chinese actors in a co-production deal between Paramount Pictures, state-owned China Movie Channel and Jiaflix Enterprises, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bingbing recently had a role alongside Milla Jovovich in Hollywood film 'Resident Evil: Retribution'.

The film's cast already includes 'Ted' actor Mark Wahlberg, up-and-coming actress Nicola Peltz as his daughter and 'What Richard Did' star Jack Reynor as Peltz's race car driver boyfriend.

'Frasier' star Kelsey Grammer will also star in the flick as the main human villain, while British actress Sophia Myles is set to play a scientist.

Producers previously announced a reality show in China to hire four actors - two professional and two amateur - to win roles in the flick. It's thought more Chinese stars will board the project in the coming weeks ahead of production, which will begin in Michigan this summer.

Speaking of the show, producers said: '' [It will] give actors and fans of the 'Transformers' franchise the opportunity to appear in a major motion picture, and it will provide the world audience yet another glimpse of the Chinese people, the Chinese culture and China itself.''
