Rocker Liam Gallagher has recorded a cover version of The Beatles' Across The Universe in a bid to boost his band's fundraising efforts for disaster-hit Japan.
The singer recently recorded the track with his group Beady Eye at London's famed Abbey Road Studios and debuted the song at a benefit show on Sunday (03Apr11).
The concert, at London's Brixton Academy, featured performances by acts such as Primal Scream and Paul Weller, and raised $240,000 (£150,000) for the British Red Cross to help those affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami disasters in Japan.
Beady Eye has now released the Fab Four track as a charity single and it is available to download via the band's website. All proceeds will be donated to the British Red Cross.
