Liam Hemsworth's brothers allegedly staged an intervention to encourage him to dump his fiancee Miley Cyrus.

The 'Hunger Games' star - whose romance has been rocky over the past few months - was advised by his older siblings Chris and Luke Hemsworth to break up with the 'Can't Be Tamed' singer last month, because they think his relationship is unhealthy.

A source told UsMagazine.com: ''They want him to end the romance for good.''

The 23-year-old Australian star - who has been with the 20-year-old blonde singer for four years and popped the question last June - is said to be taking his time to consider the advice but insiders believe he and Miley will split up soon.

Another source said that while the couple, who were spotted partying separately in Hollywood on May 1, have yet to officially call time on their engagement, ''Liam is pulling away.''

Miley recently dismissed reports that she and Liam have grown apart and insisted they would love to spend more time together but they are too busy.

She said: ''I'm not home with my boyfriend all the time. We work! He gets up to work out at six and I come home around five from the studio.

''Every week it's, 'Are they broken up? Because we don't see a photo of them.' I don't have time to go to Starbucks with my boyfriend every morning. I wish I did, but I don't.''

Miley - who met the heartthrob actor on the set of their 2010 film 'The Last Song' - plans to change her priorities once she has finished her new album, which is due out later this year.

She added: ''I've put this record before everything and I've never done that before. I've put too much into this record to put anything else in front of it.

''I'm going to change. I'm going to be different. I'm going to do what I want to do. I'd rather chill at my house and be there for the time I actually get to spend with him.''
