Jailed rapper LIL' KIM enraged crew members who worked on her last music videos by paying them with cheques they couldn't cash.

At least 18 of the raunchy star's helpers are fuming after an accounting problem left them short-changed - just as the R+B singer begins her 366-day sentence for conspiracy and perjury.

A production assistant tells the New York Daily News, "This is pretty offensive, because this whole business we're in is based on trust.

"The word is going to get around very quickly."

But Lil' Kim's publicist Ronn Torossian is adamant the rapper is innocent in the pay confusion.

He says, "It's a big surprise and disappointment to us.

"This (May 3rd Films) is an independent company Kim contracted to do her videos, and she knows nothing about this."
