Rap superstar Lil Wayne is reportedly facing an uphill struggle to have his experimental rock album released on Universal Records, because label bosses fear it will be a flop.
The Lollipop hitmaker has already seen his forthcoming disc Rebirth pushed back from its original release date of 7 April (09) to 19 May (09).
The first single from the project, Prom Queen, dropped in January (09) - but only reached number 15 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
And now it's rumoured Lil Wayne's manager Cortez Bryant has been advised against letting the star press ahead with the CD.
A source tells ThisIs50.com, "If Wayne doesn't brighten up, they have to turn into Mr. Evil Record Company and just tell him it's never going to be released."
