Lil Wayne, Santogold, Paramore, MGMT and Tokyo Police Club will compete for the upcoming Woodie of The Year award after landing at the top of U.S. college students' top pop poll.
The nominees will fight it out for the MTVu honour at the Roseland Ballroom in New York on 12 November (08).
The prestigious honour is awarded to the band or artist which made the biggest splash on the college music scene.
Other favourites up for awards at the 2008 Woodies are Gnarls Barkley and Vampire Weekend, who will fight for the Best Video Woodie and Eddie Vedder, Mary J. Blige and Ludacris are nominated for the Good Woodie award for their charity efforts.
Kanye West, N.E.R.D. and the Ting Tings will fight it out for the Performing Woodie.
