Lily Cole is set to join the cast of 'Snow White and the Huntsman'.

The British model - who previously appeared in 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus' with Heath Ledger - is in negotiations to appear in the movie which tells the story of a huntsman who teaches Snow White how to fight her evil stepmother after he defies her orders to kill the young girl in the woods.

'The Hurt Locker' actor Sam Spruell has also been linked to the movie although it is unclear what parts he and Lily will take on.

While Kristen Stewart will play Snow White with Charlize Theron as her evil stepmother, 'Thor's Chris Hemsworth is the favourite to take on the role of the huntsman.

The character was originally intended to be played by an older star - with both Hugh Jackman and Viggo Mortensen in the frame for the part - and it is thought the casting of 27-year-old Chris could lead to a change in The Script into more of a romantic role.

The film - being directed by Rupert Sanders - is expected to start production in autumn, ahead of a December 2012 release date.
