Lily Collins would play Clary Fray in 'Mortal Instruments' ''over and over again''.

The 'Mirror, Mirror' actress - who plays the heroine in the forthcoming fantasy adventure 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' - is a huge fan of the book series the movie is based on and was excited to land the lead role in the big screen adaptation.

She told Entertainment Weekly: ''I think any young girl who reads a series like this, where there is such an amazing female character, I think everyone is secretly like, 'I wish I was Clary.'

''I would love to play Clary over and over again.''

Despite the ambitious blockbuster being very special effects-heavy, the actress says the film - which also stars Jamie Campbell Bower and Robert Sheehan - is rooted in ''human emotion and character''.

She added: ''The special effects and the CGI are going to be incredible, but it's not a film based on that,'' Collins says. ''It just adds to the other elements of the film. We've kept the humour [from the book], and we've really made it about human emotion and character. I'm just excited to see the action and giggle and swoon over the romance. I hope that everyone loves it as much as I loved making it.''

'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' is due for release later this year.
