Lindsay Lohan's dad has been hit with a tax bill after allegedly failing to pay $12,000 (£8,000) to America's Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Michael Lohan owes $12,429 (£8,286) in delinquent federal taxes, according to a lien filed against him by IRS officials in Suffolk County, New York in January (10).
The born-again Christian tells the Detroit News he was unable to pay the bill because he was in prison when his taxes were due, and he has since filed an extension to allow him time to sort out his financial affairs.
Lohan was jailed in the 1990s after he was convicted of criminal contempt of court, and he spent another two-and-a-half-years behind bars in relation to charges of attempted assault and drink driving, before he was released in 2007.
Michael hit the headlines last month (Mar10) after he staged a press conference pleading with his famous daughter to seek help for her alleged drug addiction.
