Geldof Stages Fish Aid
The Irish rocker won unanimous praise for his efforts with the global pop concert in 1985 and has tirelessly campaigned for various causes ever since - and now is participating in a music festival to save struggling PETERHEAD PORT.
The former BOOMTOWN RATS singer has been asked to headline the NORTH SEA ROCK event next May (04), which has attracted more than 60 other bands.
Local fisherman DAVEY ROY says, "Peterhead has been hit by a lot of job losses and needs something like this to pick up everyone's spirits. I am not saying that this will be the savior of Peterhead, but it could put the place on the map.
"I have spoken to Sir Bob's management and he is well aware of the problems we face. We need a person of his stature to give us a boost."
