Yesterday, we reported the brave detention of an intruder by U.S rapper LL Cool J . Today, the Independent can reveal that the musician and actor broke the man's nose and jaw, before awaiting the police's arrival.
"A physical altercation occurred between the suspect and the victim, James Todd Smith, also known professionally as LL Cool J," said Los Angeles police Sgt. Frank Preciado. "My understanding is he just had him in custody with his physical strength." It turns out the rapper, born James Todd Smith, actually broke the intruder's nose and jaw, after he had heard noises in his LA Mansion in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Police described Cool J's actions as a "knock-down, drag-out.". "LL Cool J, and his family, are safe and thank everyone for their thoughts and concern," said spokesperson for the family, Rhett Usry. "As a father, husband and citizen, he is committed to keeping his family safe and is cooperating with authorities on this private matter."
Cool-J came to prominence with hits including Mama Said Knock You Out and I'm Bad, and never have two song titles been so apt. Perhaps he thought his work on Ncis: Los Angeles was applicable to this real life situation.
