Chart-topping pop duo LMFAO were forced to cut short a concert in Honduras on Wednesday night (28Dec11) after a fire broke out at the venue.
The Sexy and I Know It hitmakers were celebrating their new number one status at the top of the U.S. charts at a show in Central America when officials at the Coliseo Nacional de Ingenieros alerted them to the blaze and ordered them to immediately end the gig so they could evacuate the crowd.
Firefighters were called in to put out the flames and around 15 fans were treated for smoke inhalation, according to local reports.
Police have launched an investigation into the blaze as they believe a "criminal hand" deliberately set fire to the electrical system.
In a series of Twitter.com posts after the gig, Lmfao star RedFoo joked, "Epic concert tonight!!!! Everybody in Honduras, we set the place on fire!!!!"
Explaining what had happened, the rapper added, "They told us that there was a fire when we were on stage. Then we went to the dressing rooms and there was smoke in the halls.
"On a serious note. Hope everybody is safe from the fire tonight! love you Honduras!"
