'Royals' singer Lorde has likened herself to 'Lord of the Rings' character Gollum, telling her fans she looks like the character on stage.
Lorde thinks she looks like Gollum from 'Lord of the Rings' when she performs on stage.
The 17-year-old star likened herself to the ugly fictional character from J.R.R Tolkien's tales during a question and answer session with fans on entertainment website Reddit.
The 'Royals' hitmaker said: ''I know when I'm on stage, I don't think about how it looks, I just concentrate on really feeling what I hear. But I totally know I look like Gollum when I perform, so it's cool.''
Lorde also revealed she ''hates dentists'', when asked why she referred to her teeth so much in her debut album, 'Pure Heroine'.
In an hour, the Kiwi singer attracted almost 5,000 questions and comments during the 'Ask Me Anything' session.
During that time, she confirmed she would be performing at a ''major festival'' in North America in 2014 and revealed for her next video, she is deciding between the album tracks Ribs, 400 Lux and Buzzcut.
Another fan asked what shampoo she uses on her trademark brunette curls.
She replied: ''My mum buys it in 2-litre bottles from the supermarket I don't even know. [sic]''
Lorde also said she has no regrets about going into the music industry at such a young age, saying: ''I feel like I learnt early on how things worked and that gave me a good understanding of what could be f**ked with/which rules were dumb and shouldn't have to be followed. [sic]
''Plus, I can sit down with basically the most intimidating people in the industry and not flinch. And maybe even make them flinch. Or cry. Heh. [sic]''
