Rocker Lou Reed is hoping to make up for his decision not to allow Susan Boyle to cover his PERFECT DAY tune on a U.S. TV show by directing a video for her rendition of the song.
The Scottish singer was booked to perform the song on U.S. talent show America's Got Talent in September (10), but licensing issues prevented her from singing the anthem and she jetted back to Britain in tears.
Reed immediately regretted the decision and now has asked Boyle if he can create the video for her version of Perfect Day.
He tells Scottish newspaper the Sunday Mail, "I wanted to create a beautiful and intimate piece shot in Susan's native Scotland and she quickly agreed."
Boyle, who previously labelled Reed as "childish" for blocking her attempt to sing his song, adds, "I loved that Lou understood how much it meant to me to film in Scotland. I didn't mind how much it rained or blew a gale, I enjoyed every minute."
The odd couple's collaboration premiered on British TV on Sunday night (07Nov10).
