Lucy Liu misses her easy Los Angeles lifestyle.

The 'Elementary' actress - who is currently residing in New York City to film the Sherlock Holmes drama with Jonny Lee Miller - misses the ''wonderful'' leisurely life she led in the city, where celebrities are able to have their every whim catered for.

She said: ''I do miss L.A. I think it's wonderful. The thing about L.A. is you can valet your life. You can valet your dry cleaning, you don't have to step foot anywhere.''

Despite enjoying a laidback life in sunny California, the actress feels ''invigorated and pushed'' living in New York.

She said: ''I love living in New York. I'm from here and sometimes, when we have an hour break, you run to the museum or see a show if you get out early enough. You can run to the Guggenheim [museum] if we're uptown shooting. I have the MetroCard and that works on the bus too. There's a convenience there.''

The 44-year-old beauty adds that living in New York makes it easier for her to avoid being bothered when she's out and about.

She explained to Britain's OK! magazine: ''You can dive into the subway and they're not going to follow you into it. There's more escape routes.

''You can walk everywhere, you can get on a bicycle - which I do a lot. There's the ability to disappear. It's much easier.''
