Madonna was jeered at the London premiere of her new movie W.E. on Sunday (23Oct11) for failing to spend enough time chatting to fans.
Hundreds of devotees braved chilly weather at London's Leicester Square for a glimpse of the pop superstar but were left disappointed when she stopped just briefly to greet several supporters before entering the venue.
As she headed up the red carpet, a chorus of boos could be heard from her frustrated fans, according to the Daily Mail.
Madonna directed the movie, which focuses on the scandalous relationship between Britain's King Edward Viii and American divorcee Wallis Simpson, and she admitted at the London unveiling she is nervous about the U.K. public's reaction to the film.
She said, "It's slightly nerve-wracking because it's about a British king, it's predominantly filmed in Britain, it's a British production, most of my actors are English and I know the British can be tough critics. But I hope they like it."
