Madonna has jumped straight in at the top of the UK singles chart to claim her 12th number one with SORRY, ending veteran singer Leo Sayer's unlikely two-week reign in pole position.

Sayer's 1977 song THUNDER IN MY HEART, which has been remixed by Dj Meck, falls to number three.

At number two is a new entry from Corinne Bailey Rae with PUT YOUR RECORDS ON, while Westlife are another new entry at number four with AMAZING.

Rounding out the top five singles is NASTY GIRL by Notorious BIG/P DIDDY/Nelly.

In the UK albums chart, Jack Johnson climbs five places to take the top spot with IN BETWEEN DREAMS, knocking down ARCTIC MONKEYS' WHATEVER PEOPLE SAY I AM THAT'S WHAT I'M NOT to number two.

KT Tunstall's EYE TO THE TELESCOPE moves up a place to number three, while Kaiser Chiefs are at number four with EMPLOYMENT.

Neil Diamond is a new entry at number five with 12 SONGS.
