Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal is expecting her second child with husband, Peter Sarsgaard. The actress's representative confirmed the news to People magazine on Monday (November 28, 2011).
The Dark Knight star married acclaimed actor Peter in Italy in 2009 and the couple are already parents to five-year-old daughter Ramona. Maggie has previously spoken of taking a more relaxed approach to parenting, telling Marie Claire, "Before my daughter was born, I was all, 'I'm only going to feed her organic food, I'm only going to give her cloth diapers. And then, once you have a real child who is starving on a plane, you give them a bag of potato chips because that's all there is, and they're OK and it's fine". Before meeting Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard reportedly dated the burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese and later the model and actress Shalom Harlow. He is perhaps best known for his standout performances in Shattered Glass, Garden State and the Oscar-nominated An Education, while Maggie rose to fame after winning critical acclaim and a Golden Globe nomination for the role in the sadomasochistic romance Secretary.
She recently completed work on 'Learning to Fly' - a 2012 drama about two mothers who team up to help make a difference a local high school. She will also star in the crime-thriller The Iceman, about the notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski.
