Lawnfest 2013 Announces To The Line-up Man Like Me & Josephine Plus More Tbc

Lawnfest, the one-day family boutique festival, will back for its fifth year on July 6th, 2013 at West Heath School, Sevenoaks, Kent. Encapsulating all that is truly wonderful and magical about family festivals Lawnfest is truly one of summer's hidden gems. Loved by festivalgoers of every generation, this is the perfect family day out in every sense of the word.  The festival was set up as a non-profit event to help fund bursaries for West Heath School, a charity that helps rebuild the lives of children.

Set across 32 acres of the Kent countryside Lawnfest welcome back the very popular Children's Garden Area and musical hero's Man Like Me. Joining Man Like Me on the main stage will be Josephine Oniyama and BBC Kent's very own and host for the day, Sean Rowley, plus more acts will be announced. Throughout the day a fine medley of fun filled happenings will keep all the family entertained. The festival attracts many famous faces including the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna. A selection of food and drinks will be available and not to forget the Lawnfest Boutique and very special raffle. What more could you ask for on a summers day?

Man Like Me are a brilliantly bonkers troupe from London who have developed a unique carnival-esque blend of Brit pop mixed with old-fashioned trumpet vibes and brazen London style rap.  Man Like Me's collective energy is always a spectacular to behold and it comes as no surprise that Lawnfest had to have the guys back. Last year they stole the show and left the sold out festival wanting more. They have a new album out in March so expect to hear new and old material from this exciting band de jour.

Josephine is currently on tour with Paloma Faith and is tipped for greatness from musical greats such as Jools Holland. Her vocals are so richly soulful, so deeply mature it's no wonder that she's already found herself working with the likes of Leo Abrahams (Grace Jones, Nick Cave) and Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Estelle).

Sean Rowley is a DJ on BBC London 94.9 and BBC Radio Kent. Rowley devised the Guilty Pleasures concept as a slot on his BBC London radio show, to attempt to 'reclaim' songs that are viewed as "slightly shameful to love". His club Guilty Pleasures takes place at KOKO in Camden Town, and has spawned two compilation albums, a Sunday afternoon radio show, and a television show on ITV1 hosted by Fearne Cotton on which established performers will perform cover versions of Guilty Pleasures favourites.

Children Garden Area will have clownish capers, playful pranks, arts, and crafts, story telling, and extremely entertaining workshops; it's always fun in the Kids' Garden. Watch out for the giant grizzly bear and a very special teddy bears' picnic. But shhh, don't tell everyone!

Lanwfest's Food Shed food is de-li-cious. The Street Kitchen silver airstream van will be there to make mouth-watering burgers fit for any king or queen. Pizza connoisseurs, The Fox and Raisin, will be sparking up their wood fired pizza oven and will certainly look the part alongside Kissmycake with Bluebelle selling vintage flavoured ice-creams and cupcakes. The Cocktail Club Emporium makes their first appearance at Lawnfest. Expect a divine range of mouth watering and unusual gin and vodka champagne infusions. Violets Vintage Teas make a welcome return with English tea served in delicate bone china with scones and cake. And remember it's obligatory to get your vintage look from Violet's vintage dressing-up box.

Do it with friends. Make new ones. And savour all that is good about Lawnfest.
