Callum Keith Rennie has been cast in 'Fifty Shades of Grey'.

The Canadian actor, 53, will play Ray Steele, who is the stepfather of college student and female lead Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) in the film adaptation of E. L. James' best selling trilogy, according to the HollywoodReporter.com.

Rennie - who recently appeared in NBC series 'The Firm' where he played Ray McDeere - will star alongside Jamie Dornan, who is taking on the role of bondage-loving millionaire Christian Grey.

Filming for the movie has kicked off in Vancouver, Canada and the lead characters, Christian and Anastasia, have been spotted kissing on set.

Universal Pictures recently announced that Marcia Gay Harden has joined the cast as Christian's adoptive mother, Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey, while British singer Rita Ora will star as his adopted sister, Mia.

Other actors in the cast include Luke Grimes as Christian's elder brother, Elliot, Eloise Mumford as Anastasia's best friend Kate Kavanagh, Victor Rasuk as Anastasia's pal Jose, and Max Martini, who stars as Christian's bodyguard.

'Fifty Shades of Grey' is due for release in February 2015.
