Marie Osmond is hitting the high notes for a new opera project after recording Nessun Dorma from Puccini's Turandot.

The singer has just returned from Prague, Czech Republic, where she recorded the tune made famous by late tenor Luciano Pavarotti in Italian.

And she admits it was a thrill to rework one of her favourite tunes and try a different style of music.

She says, "You keep pushing yourself. I love learning, I love trying new things and I guess it's genetic - we're all kind of that way in my family."

It is not clear if the track will appear on an Osmond album or a compilation, but it isn't the first time Osmond has tackled opera in Prague - she recorded with a symphony orchestra in the city for tracks on her last album I Can Do This.
