Marilu Henner - Marilu Henner Can Remember Every Day Of Her Life
Marilu Henner, the actress best known for playing Elaine Nardo on the hit TV show 'Taxi, has a very special talent indeed. The 60-year-old can remember every single day of her life - and that includes what she was doing, who she was with, what day of the week it was and even what she had for lunch, reports ABC News.
The actress, who also starred in L.A. Story (1991) and Man on the Moon (1999) is one of only 12 people in the world diagnosed with hyperthymesia, also known as Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory. Displaying her talent by recalling her time on 'Taxi', Henner quickly 'remembered', "It was June 4 of 1978. It was a Sunday and I found out at the 'Grease' premiere party.Taxi' is so vivid to my mind. The very first rehearsal was July the 5th of 1978. That was a Wednesday and our first show was shot the 14th, a Friday". Most people can remember major events in their lives, wedding days, 9/11 or when President John F. Kennedy was shot, but Marilu can even remember being baptized, saying, "I just remember the water, and I remember the white.Whenever I go back into memory, I'm always in my body looking out". The actress best describes how her memory works by likening it to a selection menu on a Dvd, in which she can pick whichever scene she chooses.
Henner released her new book 'Total Memory Makeover' on Tuesday (April 24, 2012), which aims to help others unlock their deepest memories.
